Jason Erik Petersen, 43, of McHenry, passed away at his residence surrounded by his family on September 27, 2016.
He was born on May 18, 1973 in Lake Forest to Dennis O. and Linda L. (Palmer) Petersen. Jason attended Hilltop Elementary School and his freshman year at McHenry East Campus.
A motor vehicle accident twenty-eight and a half years ago left Jason in need of around the clock care. His family's love and dedication made it possible for him to spend these years at home.
During his younger years, he loved animals, especially the family's Newfoundland dogs. Jason's life brought many around him happiness and joy. He will never be forgotten.
Jason is survived by his parents, Dennis and Linda; his brother, Shane (Shereen) Petersen; a nephew, Ethan; a niece, Rilea; and his loving, caring extended family.
Friends and family may gather at Justen Funeral Home & Crematory, 3700 W. Charles J. Miller Rd., McHenry, IL on Friday, September 30, 2016 from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. The visitation will resume Saturday, October 1, 2016 at 11 a.m. and the funeral service will follow at 12 p.m. at the funeral home.
Interment will be at Ivanhoe Cemetery in Mundelein.
