BEACON FALLS — Jean L. Stevens, 81, of Beacon Falls, formerly of Milford, died peacefully Tuesday, September 20, 2016, at Griffin Hospital. She was the widow of Donald Stevens.

Jean was born August 26, 1935, in Lincoln Hill, Pa., the daughter of the late Eugene and Mildred (Wallack) Puchi. She was an avid homemaker.
She enjoyed traveling with her late husband. She will be sadly missed by her family and friends but will remain forever in their hearts.
She leaves two sons, George Gyorke and his wife, Dolores, of New Hampshire and Victor Mera and his wife, Karen, of Waterbury; a daughter, Ruth Xavier of Vermont; her sister, Georgianna, and her husband, Virgilio Correia of Beacon Falls; several grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her sister, Sally Gyorke.

A graveside service in celebration of Jean’s life will take place at 1 p.m. Thursday, September 29 (directly) at Kings Highway Cemetery, 271 Cherry St., Milford. There will be no calling hours. Arrangements are by Miller-Ward Funeral Home, 260 Bank St., Seymour.
