Mr. Frohman was born Feb. 4, 1888, in Portland and was educated in Portland public schools and the Portland Art Museum School. He served in the Army overseas in World War I.
He served on directors' boards of the Portland Art, Museum, the City Club, the Portland Area Boy Scouts of America, the Portland Association of Insurance Agents and United World Federalists. He also was a member of the Multnomah Athletic Club, Artists Equity and a number of organizations helping handicapped children.
He was an artist member of the Portland Art Museum and was active in encouraging creative art in the Northwest.
Survivors include a son, Dr. Richard Butterworth in Hillsborough, Calif.; a daughter, Mary F. Cohen of Larchmont, NY; and seven grandchildren.
The family suggests remembrances be contributed to societies for aid to the blind, aid to retarded children or the Boy Scouts of America.
