LETHA ELIZABETH “BETTY” MOORE* age 79 of Sturgis, Michigan died Thursday afternoon January 17, 2008 at the Sturgis Hospital.
She was born June 24, 1928 in Columbus, Ohio a daughter to the late Walter & Freda (DisBennett) Stewart.
Betty had resided in Sturgis since 1979 coming from Oxnard, California. On January 24, 1949 she married Roy R. Moore in Greenup, Kentucky. He died October 2, 2004.
Betty was a dedicated and loving wife, mother and homemaker that was happiest when she was surrounded by her family. She enjoyed flower gardening, canning and had a passion for reading often reading several books a week.
She is survived by 3 Daughters; Kellie Moore of Sturgis, Linda (Carl) Tilton and Kathryn (Michael) Mulrooney both of Green Bay, Wisconsin, 3 Sons; Roy (Rosella) Moore, Jr. and Patrick Moore both of Sturgis and Arthur (Jennifer) Moore of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, 18 Grandchildren, 16 Great Grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Her parents, husband, 1 son, Brian Moore and 2 sisters, Virginia Gobel and Mary Stewart preceded her in death.
The family will receive friends from 1:30 P.M-3:00 P.M. Monday at the *HACKMAN-Foglesong Funeral Home* of Sturgis where funeral services celebrating the life of Letha “Betty” Moore will be held at 3:00 P.M. Monday. The Rev. Tim Brondyke of the Fish Lake Bible Church will officiate. A graveside committal will follow the service at Oak Lawn Cemetery in Sturgis.
The family suggests those wishing to make a memorial donation in Mrs. Moore’s memory consider the charity of one’s own choice. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.
