Suggested edit: Engineer and WWI veteran. His parents were Elizabeth and Stewart McLeese. George graduated from Salt Lake High School (West) with the class of 1917. Before the war, he was working in the engineering section of the Oregon Short Line Railway and living in Pocatello, Idaho. On October 15, 1918, George volunteered to join the Army and was part of the Student Army Training Corp (SATC) at the University of Utah. He attended Field Artillery Central Officers Training School at Camp Zachary Taylor in Kentucky and was then discharged on December 10, 1918. George reenlisted in the Marines on June 2, 1919 and joined the 13th Replacement Battalion. He trained at Quantico in Virginia before sailing overseas to France around June 30, 1919, and then returned to Utah after the war. The 1920 census places him living with his parents in Salt Lake City and working as a Civil Engineer for the railroad. George worked on his engineering degree at the University of Utah and was voted president of the Utah Engineering Society his junior and senior years. On May 20, 1925, George married Bernece Prichard and they had two children in the early 1930s. George continued his career by becoming the Public Works Administration government inspector and engineer. George died from Hodgkin's disease at the age of 36.
