Gail K. French, 82 of Myakka City, formerly of Bradenton, passed away on Monday, September 26, 2016 at the TideWell Hospice House in Palmetto.

Gail was born on August 12, 1934 in Hamilton, New York to the late Mortimer and Ivah Maude (Lloyd) Karpp. She moved to Manatee County in the mid 1970’s coming from Indiana. Upon arriving she settled in Bradenton for many years until the last couple of years when she moved to Myakka City. Locally she worked as a secretary for the Manatee County Community Services Office working with the Veterans Service Office until her retirement. She was also a former member of the Loyal Order of Moose in Bradenton.

Gail was predeceased by two sisters, Lori and Debbie and is survived by her loving husband, Ronald French of Myakka City, Florida, two sons; Richard Benson, III and his wife Diane of Alabaster, Alabama, Lonn Benson and his wife Maline of Osprey, Florida, one daughter, Lynn Benson and her husband John of Arizona, three step-sons; Ronald H. French, Jr., Raymond E. French both of Myakka City, Florida, Christopher French of Charlestown, New Hampshire, one step-daughter, Aimie French-Johnson and her husband Craig of Myakka City, Florida, one brother, Mortimer Karpp and his wife Jean of Bradenton, Florida, two sisters; Sharon Shaddick and her husband Butch of Hamilton, New York, Diane Potter of Malden, South Carolina, seven grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, four step-grandchildren, four step-great-grandchildren, many extended family members, friends and acquaintances.

Private family services will be held at a later date. Gail will be inurned privately at the Sarasota National Cemetery in Sarasota, Florida at a later date and time.

The family request that in lieu of flowers that memorials be made to TideWell Hospice Inc., 5955 Rand Blvd., Sarasota, Florida 34238 in her memory.
