James L. Bayless, 53, of Brownsburg, died at 9:09 am Friday in his home.
Mr. Bayless had resided in Brownsburg for 22 years. He worked for Ameritech for 30 years, the last years in corporate security.
He was an official for USAC racing and was assistant flagman at Lincoln Park Speedway at Putnamville, for several years retiring in 1996.
He was a member of Cornertone Christian Church at Brownsburg. He graduated from Indiana State University in 1966.
He was born May 20, 1944, at Crawfordsville, to Otis James & Hazel Marie Bayless. He married Raylene Campbell. She survives.
Also surviving is his mother, Hazel of Alamo; a son, Kevin of Brownsburg; a daughter, Michelle Harrold of Indianapolis; two brothers, Larry of Brownsburg and Jerry of Crawfordsville; and a grandson.
His father is deceased.
Funeral services are scheduled for 10 am Monday in Cornerstone Christian Church, with the Rev. Larry Bellville officiating. Burial will be in the Bethesda Cemetery at Brownsburg. Friends may call from 2-5 pm Sunday at the church.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Cornerstone Christian Church or the American Leukemia Society.
