Marie Hill, 97, of Jonesburg, MO passed away on Saturday, September 17, 2016 at Lincoln Nursing and Rehab in Troy, MO. She is survived by her three nephews, Charles (Vi) Skillman, Don (Ann) Stoecklin and Merle Stoecklin; niece, Janet Hofmann; seven great nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces. Marie was born on August 28, 1919 in Jonesburg, MO to Tony and Margaret (Pietzscke) Engel. She was married to Robert Hill on March 23, 1940 in Troy, MO. He preceded her in death on April 1, 2000. She was preceded in death by her parents, Tony and Margaret (Pietzscke) Engel, brother, George Engel, two sisters, Maude Skillman and Dorothy Stoecklin and niece, Margaret Skillman. Marie was a member of the St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Jonesburg, Missouri. She attended school in Jonesburg, Missouri. Marie worked as a bookkeeper and helped her husband operate their business, Hill Plumbing. After retirement her and her husband enjoyed traveling with family and friends. Marie enjoyed crocheting, reading, doing crossword puzzles and word searches. She liked watching the birds from her window, so she would have several bird feeders to attract all kinds of birds. As her hearing and eye sight began to diminish and it was hard for her to communicate with family and friends. She would always have a smile for everyone until her illness took that away. Burial at Jonesburg City Cemetery in Jonesburg, MO.
