When Christopher Roemer was born on July 10, 1845, in Frémestroff, Moselle, France, his father, Christopher, was 36 and his mother, Anna, was 29. He married Florentine "Flora" Veronica Valentine in 1865. They had 12 children in 17 years. He died on March 19, 1904, in Escanaba, Michigan, at the age of 58, and was buried there.
(Per the 1900 US Census, only 5 children were living at that time.)
