Michael Guy March was born in Stockton, California to Ruth Eddy March and James March. In 1962 Michael moved to Orland to live with his new family, Chuck and Diana Ellis and their three daughters. Michael took great pride in his family and in finding Diana a home near his, where he and his family could look after her during her later years. He shared Chuck’s love of hunting, fishing, and anything in the great outdoors. His warm smile, quick wit, and the ability to tell a great story resulted in many, many friends.

Michael was a talented auto mechanic who owned his own shop for a number of years and was a competitive auto racer as a young adult. For the past 8 years, Michael enjoyed keeping the Smucker Natural Foods plant operating efficiently and safely as a Maintenance Technical Leader. He was a unique and lovable man, and will be missed by many.

Michael is survived by his loving wife, Gina, and their three sons- Dennis, Macenn, and Race; daughter, Shannon and her three children- Danny, Winter, and Tristen (Oregon); his Mother, Diana Ellis, his Father-in-Law Richard “Andy” Anderson, sisters Joanne Black (Sacramento), Janet Ellis (Roy), and Kathy Clark (Colorado), and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his biological parents, his father Chuck Ellis, and his brother James March.

Condolences for the family may be posted at www.newtonbracewell.com. A celebration of Michael’s life will be held at the Durham Park on Sunday, October 9th from 12:30-3:30PM. Smucker Natural Foods will hosting the BBQ and provide juices. Others may bring a salad or desert to share if they wish. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to Wings of Eagles, The Joseph Alvarez Organization for Seriously Ill Children, P.O. Box 4031, Chico, CA 95927, or through their webpage.
