SABETHA, Kan. (WIBW) The Kansas Highway Patrol says Timothy Sparks, 51, of Sabetha died around 2 p.m. in a crash just north of Sabetha.
According to the KHP Crash Log, Sparks was heading north on US-75 when he was struck head-on by a south bound Ford F-250.
Officials say the truck crossed the center line.
The truck's driver, identified as Jody M. Guidry, Jr. of Opelousas, Louisiana was not injured.
US-75 was shut down in both directions for several hours after the crash. Officials from the Kansas Department of Transportation said the highway was re-opened around 8:45 p.m. Sunday.
The Patrol said Sparks was wearing a helmet.

Timothy Lyle Sparks, 51, of Sabetha passed away Sunday, September 25, 2016.
He was born on September 11, 1965, in Hoisington, Kansas. Timothy graduated from Topeka High School.
He married Debra Brasher; they later divorced.
He joined the U.S. Navy and served on the U.S.S. Enterprise. After he was discharged from the Navy, he moved to Topeka and then later to Sabetha. He was employed with Schenck Processing in Sabetha.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents: Clarence and Ellen Doll of Claflin, Paul and Opal Sparks of Colorado, and George and Virginia Eicholtz of Topeka; a sister, Debbie Sparks in 1993; and his biological father, James L. Sparks.
He is survived by his mother and father, Nancy Ellen (Doll) and Bill Eicholtz of Topeka; his wife, Robin Garza of Sabetha; a daughter, Stephanie (Scott) Lewis of Topeka; a son, Greg Sparks of California; a brother, James (Wanda) Sparks of Valley Center, KS; five sisters, Vickie Sparks of Sabetha, Sandy (Richard) Mann of Wichita, KS, Jamie (Steve) Marrow of Park City, KS; Gretchen (Kirk) Muskina of Tennessee, and Kristina (Kevin) Pearce of Lawrence, KS; three step-sons, Noe Garza of Valley Falls, Joe Garza of Sabetha, and Chris Royer of Clinton, Utah; a step-daughter, Katrina Majors of Rock Creek, KS; three beautiful grandchildren, Meredith Kinemond, Alexandria Lewis, and Riley Lewis all of Topeka, KS; six step-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
A private memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 5, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 NW Independence Avenue, Topeka. A reception for family and friends will follow from 2:00 to 4:00 PM at Arab Shriners, 1305 South Kansas Avenue, Topeka.
