Mary Wright was born in Tennessee August 3, 1812. Moved to Gentry County, Indian with her parents when a child. She was married to Rev. James Quillen in Green Castle, Putnam County, Indiana.
To this unio were born 10 children, three sons and 7 daughters of which 3 sons and 4 daughters survive her:
1. Rosanna Simmons
2. William Quillen
3. Rachel Dunwoody of Beavery City Nebraska
4. Nancy E. Peer of Washington
5. Thomas Quillen of Idaho
6. John P. Quillen of Brownville
7. Susanna W. Turner of Oklahoma
She was converted to the Christian (or New Light) church as has been a true faithful follower of her blessed Lord since 1840. A true and conscientious Christian a cheerful and happy disposition, her life a continual sunshine, she made all happy who were around her, and all felt that in her was exemplified the character of her Risen Lord.
It was her constant delight to walk in the footsteps of her Master to and from in this world and now she walks with him in the City of God on this Lovely Easter day, which so beautifully represent the Son of Righteousness. 'Blessed are they that do this commandment that they may have a right to the tree of life and may enter enter in through the gates into the City." Grandma Quillen has grandchildren and great grand children to the fourth generation.
