Lottie Virginia Byrd Hunsucker, age 78, resident of Somerville and wife of the late Julian McCoy Hunsucker, departed this life Saturday morning, September 24, 2016 at her residence.

Services of Remembrance for Mrs. Hunsucker will be conducted at 2 P.M. Thursday, September 29, 2016 at the Peebles West Funeral Chapel at Oakland with Rev. John Ed Watkins, pastor of the Mercy Bridge Church in Somerville, officiating. Interment will follow in the Morris Chapel Cemetery. A visitation for Mrs. Hunsucker will be from 6 to 9 P.M. Wednesday, September 28, 2016 at the Hunsucker Residence (820 Feathers Chapel Drive, Somerville, TN 38068). Arrangements will be provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes & Cremation Center - West Chapel at Oakland.

Mrs. Hunsucker was born November 27, 1937 in Slayden, Mississippi. She received her education in the Marshall County, Mississippi School System and was a resident of the Somerville area for 49 years. She was married May 1, 1954 to Julian McCoy Hunsucker and she was a homemaker throughout her life. Mrs. Hunsucker was a member of the Morris Chapel Baptist Church for many years and enjoyed gardening, preparing food, sewing, attending Gospel music singings and special times with her children and grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Julian McCoy Hunsucker; her parents, Samuel Isaac Byrd and Lottie Bell Skelton Byrd; her daughter, Brenda Hunsucker Nelson; her son, Ricky Hunsucker; her sister, Connie Gammel; four brothers, Warner Byrd, Demp Byrd, John Byrd, Louis Byrd; and her grandson, Steve Watkins.
