On August 1, 1870, Sarah was 6 and living with her Father James, they were living in Shelby, Edwards, Illinois. Their post office was Samsville. Their dwelling number was 250. James' personal estate was $375 and his real estate was $2,380. James age 35 and Lydia his wife age 32 had four other children living with them. They were David age 14, Anna age 11, George age 8 and William age 3. There were four boarders living with them. They were George Gaddy (Physician) age 28, Moses Mckinzey (Harness Maker) age 24, James Orseman (Saddler) age 22 and Frances Ridgers age 30.

Sarah's Father James died at residence in Edwards County, Illinis on Novemeber 8, 1877.

On June 14, 1880, Sarah's Mother, Lydia was a widow and living in Salem, Edwards County, Illinois. She was 42 and kept house. She was head of household. She had four of her children living with her, Sarah age 16, William age 13, James D. age 9 and Henry Franklin age 7. There were four boarders living with them. They were H.T. Herndon age 30 from Missouri (Physician), I.P. Rudolph 55 from Ohio (Wagon Maker), F.C. Decker 45 from Germany (Merchant), Lewis Decker 18 from Indiana, and Armanius Bradley 52 from Tennessee (Farm Laborer).

On June 28, 1900, Sarah was 35 and living with her husband John N. Ackley in Salem, Edwards County, Illinois. The 1900 census stated Sarah was born July 1864. They living in dwelling 442 on North Street. Their Family Number was 443. They had been married 16 years. Sarah had 9 children but only 5 were alive. Sarah and her husband could read and write. They had 5 children living with them. They were Charles W 15, son Dow L 13, Albion E. 8, Maynard W age 5 and son Shirley T. age 1.

On May 5, 1910, Sarah was 45 and living with her husband John, 49, in Precinct 12, Polk, Florida. John was a Real Estate Dealer. They had five children living with them. They were Chas age 25, Albione age 20, son Maynard age 18, son Shirley age 14 and Bernice age 5. They had 4 boarders living with them. They were Jackson NIpper 31 from Georgia (Blacksmith), Hiriam Cotton age 19 from New Jersey (O Packer), Richardson age 22 and John Sigmon age 25 from Florida (O Packer) Everyone could read or write except for Bernice and Richarson.

In 1919, Sarah H. and her husband John N. Ackley were living on H Street in Lakeland, Forida.

On January 13, 1920, Sarah was 55 and lving with her husband John N. Ackley at 59. The 1920 Census estimated she was born in 1865. They were living in Winter Haven, Polk, Florida. They had three children, son Albion age 28, son Shirley and Bernice P. age 15. John was in the Hotel business.

In 1921, John and Sarah were still living in Lakeland, Florida. They lived on Do J Street. John was a Proprietor of a Hotel Plaza.[9]

Sarah E. (Fildes) Ackley died Marcy 8, 1939 at the age of 74. She died in Winter Haven, Polk County, Florida. She was buried in the Oaklawn Cemetery in Winter Haven.
