Mrs. Simpson was born February 3, 1929, to Lorenzo "Allen" and Columbia Downs Morris. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Farmerville, La. and dearly loved her "Joy" Sunday School class. She loved cooking and was a wonderful cook and she has painted countless pictures and gifted them to family and friends. She held various jobs in her lifetime, but the most dear to her and where everyone remembers her as Mrs. Amy, the manager of Ben Franklin's in Farmerville, La. She was known and loved by many and formed lifelong friendships with her staff of wonderful ladies.
She was preceded in death by her husband of almost 59 years, James M. Simpson; parents; brothers, Clifford, Willard, Carlton "Tom", and Ronnie Morris; sisters, Pauline Morris, Thelma Mashaw, Arlene Howard, Oleia Chapman and Doyce Terral; and grand son-in-law Thomas Kaheiki.
Left to grieve her passing are sons, Marvin "Skipper" Simpson and wife, Sharon of Sterlington, La., Kenny Simpson and wife, Kathy of Conway, La. and Richard Simpson of Farmerville, La.; grandchildren, Lisa Reed and husband, Mike of Denham Springs, La., Julie Bush and husband, Mike of Katy, Tx., Michael "Shawn" Simpson and wife, Vannette of Sterlington, La., April Simpson Kaheiki of Conway, La., Amanda Mann and husband, Justin of Sterlington, La., and Brantley Simpson and wife, Mandi of Farmerville, La.; step grandson, Johnathan Anderson of Sterlington, La.; twelve great grandchildren; four step great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Ophelia Simpson Autrey; and numerous friends and family.
Pallbearers are Brantley Simpson, Shawn Simpson, Mike Bush, Justin Mann, Phil Morris, Jeff Autrey and Jimmy Grier.
