Virginia D. Pennington, of Brookville, was born on April 6, 1919, in Batesville, Indiana, a daughter to William F. Sr., and Emma Rose Dieckmann Klusman. She married Charles "Bud" Graydon Lohrey in June of 1938, and on March 9, 1945, Charles was killed in Germany. Virginia was a homemaker and worked at Sperry Rubber for many years. She loved canning, mushroom hunting and keeping a spotless home. At the age of 96, Virginia passed away peacefully on Friday, January 15, 2016, at Brookville Healthcare Center.

Those surviving who will cherish Virginia's memory include one son, Cecil Ray (Joan) Lohrey of Brookville; four daughters, Carol Evans of Richmond, Linda (Jim) Schmid of Brookville, Marjorie Graf of Aurora, and Donna (Kent) Freeland of Richmond; step son, Ronnie Pennington of Memphis, TN; half-brother, Lloyd (Pearl) Klusman of Morris; 15 grandchildren, Micki Strohmier, Suzy Stirn, Tim Lohrey, Emily Caldwell, Randy Shank, Julie Lambert, Bonnie Bulach Mehl, Connie Bulach, Joe Bulach, Teresa Freeland, Angie Freeland, Michael Freeland, Jeff Schmid, and Chuck Schmid; 24 great grandchildren; 12 great, great grandchildren and an additional 3 on the way. Besides her first husband, Charles, she was preceded in death by second husband, Alva Pennington, and her companion of 30 years, Roy Lambert; sister Alvera Doerflein; brother, William F. Klusman, Jr.; step-mother Cleona Klusman; half-brother, Norman Klusman; infant granddaughter, Sharon Bulach, and great grandson Joe Connell.
