Francis Ellsworth Galarneau was the son of Joseph and Cora Mae (Elliot) Galarneau. He served in the Army Air Force during WWII as a B-24 bomber pilot in the 15th AAF, 460th bomb group, flying missions from Spinazzola, Italy. He continued his military service after the war and saw duty in the Korean and Viet Nam wars, ending his career as a Major. On March 3, 1944 Francis married Elouise Charlotte Hoitt in Manchester, Hillsborough Co., NH. He was cremated and his ashes were spread over Cathedral Ledge, North Conway, NH. A US military marker in the family plot at Pine Grove Cemetery, Manchester, NH commemorates his life and distinguished military service. He was survived by his wife and children Eric, Peter, and Nancy.
