Odell Linton Majors Wilson
1924 - 2005
Mrs. Odell Wilson, age 81 of Ponce de Leon, FL, passed away Saturday, September 10, 2005 at her home.
She was born April 25, 1924 in Holmes County, FL to Coot Harrison and Sarah Byrd Linton. Mrs. Wilson was a lifelong resident of Okaloosa and Holmes Counties. She was Baptist by faith and a member of Northside Baptist Church in Ponce de Leon. She was also a charter member of the First Baptist Church of Valparaiso, FL. She worked as a lunchroom manager for the Okaloosa County School Board for over 20 years. She enjoyed attending Air Stream Rallies with her husband and was a member of the Airstream Club.
Mrs. Wilson was preceded in death by her father and mother; her husband of 50 years, William Majors and her second husband, Orvin Wilson; and also two brothers, Lewis and Bobby (Bud) Linton.
Mrs. Wilson is survived by two sons, W.G. (Bill) Majors and wife, Jeannie of Panama City, FL, and Roy Majors and wife, Barbara of Ft. Walton Beach, FL; two daughters, Judy Smith and husband , Glyn of Milton, FL, and Cheryl Majors of Panama City. She is also survived by five sisters, Alice Green and husband, Thomas, Mary Houston, Faye Gomillion of Ponce de Leon, Frances Walsh of Tampa, FL, and Lou Abshier and husband, Roy of Belleview, FL; nine grandchildren, Melissa Majors, Sean Majors, Brian Majors, Michael Majors and wife, Jennifer, Matthew Majors, Amy Majors, Jennifer Smith, Jody Smith, and Dylan McCarty and his wife, Jessica; and seven great-grandchildren.
A time of visitation will be held 6:00-8:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 13, 2005 at the Chapel of Clary-Glenn Funeral Home, 230 Park Avenue DeFuniak Springs, FL.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, September 14, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Clary-Glenn Funeral Home with Reverend Mike McVay officiating. Burial will follow in the New Ponce de Leon Cemetery.
Floral arrangements are being accepted or donations may be made to the Florida Baptist Children's Home, P.O. Box 8190 Lakeland, FL 33802.
The Majors family has placed their confidence in Clary-Glenn Funeral Home to handle the arrangements.
