Roland Lyndon Patterson of Swifton, Arkansas, departed this life on Friday, September 23, 2016 in Searcy at the age of 75. He was born June 21, 1941, the son of Robert “Tobe” and Almeta Patterson.

Mr. Patterson was a drag line operator, working for Randy Kinder Excavating until retiring in 2015. He enjoyed listening to gospel music, woodworking, fishing, and deer hunting. Most importantly, he was a wonderful husband, dad, and grandpa.

Mr. Patterson was a member of the New Hope Community Church at Swifton.

He was preceded in death by two grandchildren, Teddy Diagle and Levi Patterson; three sisters, Winona Rawls, Monnie Wiggins, and Peggy Patterson; and his parents.

Mr. Patterson is survived by his wife of fifty-one years, Sharon Smith Patterson of the home; one son, Tommy Patterson and wife, Monica, of Heber Springs; one daughter, Carolyn Kay Diagle and husband, Ray, of Sulphur Rock; one brother, Jack Patterson and wife, Nita, of Clover Bend; two grandchildren, Matt Patterson and Lindsey Patterson; six great grandchildren, Wyatt, Hayden, Trenton, Pasley, River, and Marcey; and a lifetime of friends.

Friends may visit at the funeral home, Sunday, 5:00-7:00 p.m. Funeral services are 2:00 p.m. Monday at New Hope Community Church with interment in Haynes Cemetery.
