Peter Martin is my 4th Great-Grandfather.

Don Longfellow

I have read several theories and speculation about "where" Peter was born. Because he was fluent in German languages, some speculation was his birth was Prussia (expanded Germany). However, given his father died in 1759 in Germantown, Virginia it is probably more believable that Peter was born in the colonies (Germantown, Virginia).

Addition speculation is the burial place of Peter Martin. My research seems to strongly suggest he was buried on the family farm in Shelby County, Kentucky.

Peter Martin's date of death is not exact. Researchers have his date of death between 03 March 1807 and 11 April 1807. Records reveal that Peter Martin recorded is last will on 03 March 1807 and his will was finalized in Court on 13 April 1807. My theory is that Peter Martin was ill and realized he needed to have a final will and had it completed on 03 March 1807 (as proven). I believe he died a few days later on 11 March 1807. Then the will was decided about 30 days later in court on 13 April 1807. This makes sense to have a court finalize a will approximately 30 days after death.

Wife is Sarah Redding (Memorial 104701367);

Believed to be buried on family farm in Ky.

Their children: Elizabeth, Lewis M. Moses, Aaron, Sarah, Joseph, John , James, Abner, Phoebe, Peter and Jacob (twins) and Mary.
