Ralph Thomas Karsner, 69, husband of Jan Bonfield Karsner, passed away Friday, Sept. 23, 2016, in Lexington, Ky. He was born in Franklin County, Ky., on Aug. 1, 1947, to the late Grover Thomas and Elizabeth Hawkins Karsner.


He served in the U. S. Navy and retired from K.U. after over 30 years of service and was the manager at Mt. Sterling, Ky., and Deputy Jailer at Clark County Detention Center.


He was of the Episcopal faith, a Mason of Lodge 4 Winchester, Ky., a member of American Legion Post 22, Mt. Sterling, Ky.  He was an avid fisherman, enjoyed playing golf and loved spending time with his family and gra ndch ildren.


Along with his wife, he is survived by his son, Chad Thomas (Lacee) Karsner of Georgetown, Ky.; da ughter, Erin Haskell (Tim) Hahn of Elizabethtown, Ky.; gran dchi ldren, Chace Karsner, Megan Karsner, Olivia Hahn and Charlotte Hahn; sister, Barbara (Jimmy) Richardson of Georgetown, Ky.; niece, Leah (Steven) Stubbs of Georgetown; nephew, Tommy Richardson of Frankfort, Ky.; great niece and nephews, Stilmon Richardson, Allison, Griffin and Karsen Stubbs; special mother-in-law, Mrs. Ann Bonfield, of Mt. Sterling, Ky.; and a host of special friends and family.


Services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 27, 2016, at Tucker, Yocum & Wilson Funeral Home with Father Frank Brawner and Chaplain Donovan Stewart officiating.


Burial will be at the Masonic Cemetery.


Visitation will be 5-8 p.m., Monday, Sept. 26, 2016, at the funeral home.  Memorials may be made to Hospice of the Bluegrass, 1317 U.S. Highway 62 E, Cynthiana, KY 41031-7970 or a charity of one's choice.
