NORFOLK - Services for Kenneth L. "Kenny" Mueller, 81, Norfolk, will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Stonacek Funeral Chapel in Norfolk. The Rev. Tim DeFor will officiate. Burial will be at Prospect Hill Cemetery in Norfolk. Military rites will be conducted by American Legion Post 16, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1644, and US Navy Honor Guard.
Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Thursday at the chapel.
He died Friday, Sept. 23, 2016, at his home.
The son of Harry and Leona (Clark) Mueller was born Dec. 28, 1934, Oakdale. He attended Norfolk Public Schools until the eighth grade. After school, Kenny worked and helped with his family while working for Ocoma Foods in Norfolk. He then enlisted in the U.S. Navy. After his discharge, Kenny moved back to Norfolk and continued working for Ocoma Foods.
After his marriage to Betty Skiff on Jan. 1, 1954, in Stanton, he also began working at Gillette Dairy. In 1955, he became a truck driver for Affiliated Foods until he retired in 1995, after working there for more than 40 years. After his retirement, he still worked part time as a truck driver for Norfolk GM, Cornhusker Truck, and Courtesy Ford.
Kenny enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, traveling, camping, gambling, watching football games, and soap operas, Kenny also loved horses, his dogs, and especially family vacations.
He was a member of First Christian Church in Norfolk, member of the Eagles Club, and Norfolk VFW and Norfolk American Legion.
Survivors include his spouse, Betty Mueller of Norfolk, children Diana and spouse Robert James of Norfolk, Kevin and spouse Julie Mueller of Norfolk, Dawn and spouse David Schulz of Columbus, Denise and spouse Chris Clauson of Stanton, Darla and spouse Jim Uttecht of Charlotte, N.C.; 28 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren, and a great-great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by a son Keith; infant children Daneen and Kent; and his parents Harry and Leona.
Organist Bill Miller will provide accompaniment and congregational hymns selected are "Amazing Grace," "Old Rugged Cross," and "I Come To the Garden." Recorded selections will be "Whispering Hope" and "Green, Green Grass."
Casketbearers (sic) will be Jimmy Fryer, Tim Mueller, Tom Mueller, Kyle Clark, Josh Clark, and Scott Clausen. Honorary casketbearers (sic) are Kenneth's grandchildren.
