In Memoriam

G A. Plummer was a pioneer of Northern Idaho coming to Moscow in Oct. 1882, crossing from Billings Mont before the railroad came through. Deceased was born in the state of Main (sic) on 14th of Oct. 1848. When five years of age his father died and his mother moved to Wisconsin and afterwards to Minnesota. He was the eleventh child of 13 children, five of whom survive him. In 1865 deceased enlisted in the First Minn. Heavy Autillery (sic) but saw no service being mustered out in 60 days. Before enlisting he had been on the plains freighting and after the war he entered that business with a brother-in-law, subsequently establishing the first mercantile business in Fargo N. Dak. They afterwards had a store on Lake Park, Miin (sic) where he also owned a large farm. On coming to Moscow the deceased ranched for about 10 years and then went to Vollmer and engaged in team and wood work.

Four years ago he moved to a ranch on Big Bear Ridge near Kendrick where he resided until last fall when he moved into Kendrick. For the last few months his eyes had been troubling him greatly giving him great pain and to relieve his sufferings he had at intervals been in the habit of using opiates of which he unfortunately became the victim of an overdose. He is survived by a widow and large family of children Roy, Ralph, Mattie, Ernest Ethel, Muriel and Cleo Bernadion Plummer of Kendrick, and Mrs. E. L. Glaisyer of Spokane and Mrs. Harry Taylor of Vollmer. Also survived by his brothers, Chas. B. Plummer of Hawley Minn. and Bartholomew Plummer Park Rapids Minn. and three sisters, Mrs. S. B. Pinney, Washington D. C. Mrs. Jennie Blake, Des Moines Iowa and Mrs. H. Glaisyer Hawley Minn.
