Winterville, GA - Ruth H. Wood, 85, died October 14, 2004.
A native of Madisonville, Kentucky, she was a daughter of the late John Thomas and Nora Alice Dame Higdon, and the widow of Marvin Shannon Wood. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Roy Wilbur Higdon.
Funeral services will be Saturday, October 16, 2004, at 11:00 AM at the chapel of Lord and Stephens, EAST with Robert Flippo, Terry Ault, and Ben McMaine officiating. Interment will be in Evergreen Memorial Park.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Linda W. and Ray Woods; sons and daughter-in-law, Edwin Dale and Nan Wood, Donald Taylor and Linda Wood, all of Winterville; sisters, Sarah Edith Higdon of Winterville and Lillian May McMaine of Lexington, KY; six grandchildren, Heather Woods, Holly Woods, Donna W. and Lyle Harris, Jerry and Jenny Wood, Emily and Brian VanDevender, and Laura Wood.
Pallbearers will be Jerry Wood, Lyle Harris, Brian VanDevender, Ron McMaine, Ted Holladay, and Walter Wood.
The family will receive friends Friday from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
Lord and Stephens, EAST, is in charge of arrangements.
