Loyalist, born about 1773 in the U.S., (his petitions do not make it clear where in the U.S. he was born) and died in Osnabruck Township, Canada West after 1840 and before the 1851-52 Osnabruck Township, Stormont County, Canada West Census. From land records, Elisha Hollister patented his Crown grant in 1802 - 100 acres in Concession 3, Lot 22, East l/2, Osnabruck Township, Stormont, Upper Canada.
From Upper Canada Land Petitions for Elisha Hollister:
- Lived in the British Colonies, now the United States, came to Canada very young with no evidence of parents.
- Joined the Brtish Standard before 1783, and was a Private and Fife Major (about 11 years old) for two years. (Asks to be placed on the United Empire Loyalist List by petition dated 1834).
- Married 10 June 1794 to Mary Waggoner, daughter of Jacob Waggoner U.E.L. (From original record, Parish records).
- 1817 - asking to lease Lot 22, Concession 4, Osnabruck, a clergy lot. From land records, Elisha Hollister is farming E1/2 Lot 22, Con. 3 (100 acres) adjoining the lot he is asking to lease.
- 1834 - Asks by petition to be placed on the U.E. Loyalist List.
- By 1839 Elisha Hollister has been placed on the U.E. List, and petitions for 200 acres of land due to him. C-2097, H-22, Petition 29, Page 197. His children are now also able to petition for land as the sons and daughters of a Loyalist.
Elisha Hollister's children all petitioned for land between 1834 and 1850.

John Hollister of Wethersfield, Conn." Two different people - Loyalist Elisha Hollister - it has been learned from Upper Canada Land Petitions that Elisha was born about 1773, resided in the U.S. before the Revolutionary War, was a Private and Fife Major with the British, and farmed Lot 22, Concession 3-4, Osnabruck Township. His children were all born in Osnabruck Township, and Elisha is probably buried in the Pleasant Valley Cemetery, Osnabruck Twp. with several of his children.

There is a gravestone for Elisha Hollister (Sr.) that reads "Revolutionary War. Capt. Elisha Hollister. 6 Co. 6 Regt.1777. Died Nov. 1 1800 (Age) 77":
(Son) ELISHA HOLLISTER (Memorial 170574581) - born 3 Sept. 1767 - died 8 Dec. 1833 in Glastonbury, Conn., and was buried by the side of his father in the Old Wassuc/Eastbury burying ground. Elisha married twice: FIRST: AURELIA FIELD, married 1793 (the mother of his children) (1778-1816) SECOND: Martha or Polly Munn, who only lived for a year after their marriage. Elisha Hollister studied medicine with his brother-in-law, Dr. Asaph Coleman. Elisha settled in Gill, Franklin Co., Mass., where for a number of years he practiced successfully, and was one of the most eminent physicians of Franklin Co. In addition, he owned a large farm, and during the early years of his practise was very wealthy. He died in Glastonbury, Conn., Dec. 8, 1833, and was buried by the side of his father in the old Wassuc/Eastbury burying ground.
Both Elisha Hollisters had large familes and therefore would have been kept mighty busy in their respective homes in Canada and the U.S.
