She was born January 29, 1939 in Caldwell County to the late Henry William Wilkey and Pearl Carver Wilkey. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a brother and 2 sisters.
Mrs. Elmore was a retired executive secretary from Piedmont Vending.
Survivors include her husband, Jack H. Elmore of the home, two daughters; Kim Leigh Elmore of Lancaster, SC, and Sandra Doreen Bolio and husband Bruce of King, NC, three sons; Timothy Scott Elmore and wife Karen of Bethlehem, Wesley Thomas Elmore of Phoenix, AZ, and Michael Lynn Elmore and wife Teresa of Hickory, nine grandchildren and six great grandchildren, a brother, Joe Wilkey and wife Barbara of Granite Falls, NC, and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family has planned for a private service.
