John Fyffe 81 of Sumner, passed away on Tuesday, June 14, 2016 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes, Indiana with his loving family singing hymns at his side.

John was born on September 24, 1934 at home in Lukin Township, Illinois, the son of Chester Gale Fyffe and Geneva Amanda (Simons) Fyffe.

He married the love of his life Barbara Dorene (Terrell) on November 25, 1956 in St. Francisville. John and Barbara celebrated 49 years of wonderful marriage before her passing on March 27, 2006.

John was a beloved teacher and retired from Red Hill School District in 1999.

He was a member of the Grand Prairie Christian Church and also was the Pastor.

John Pastored many Churches in the area, he loved his congregations and serving God. Many people remember when he operated the Go Cart Track in West Port.

John loved delivering the newspapers in Sumner for over 35 years. He loved to volunteer at the Senior Citizens Center in Sumner.

John is survived by his loving brother Joe Fyffe and wife Char of Indianapolis, Indiana, his loving children John Fyffe and wife Rhonda of Newburg, Indiana, Joseph Andrew Fyffe and wife Roberta of Lewistown, Illinois, Kerri (Fyffe) Gallion and husband Joe of Sumner, Barbara “Bobbi” Fyffe and fiancé Chris Lozier of Sumner, his loving Grandchildren Angie Swearingen and husband Ryan, Jenny McLean and husband Michael, John Fyffe and wife Erin, Chester Fyffe, and wife Amy, Andrea Tanner and husband Steven, Ashley Curtis and husband Jeremy, Jacob Moore, and girlfriend Jessica and Caleb Gallion, 14 loving Great-Grandchildren and his beloved Furry Babies Snickers and junior.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife and 1 brother Bob Fyffe,

The Funeral Service at Glasser Funeral Home, Bridgeport with Reverend Phil Boyd officiating.

Burial in the White House Cemetery in Bridgeport.
