Jennifer Aurelius Carter was born on January 15, 1964 in Newark, NJ to the late Regina Carter. She was the oldest of five children. Jennifer was a loving Mother, Sister, Grandmother, Aunt and Sorors. She was a beautiful person inside and out.

Jennifer attended Metropolitan State College of Denver, where she received her Bachelor of Science in Human Resource Management. She attended Asbury Park High School where she graduated in 1982. She was an active member of the student body where she was the president, she was also involved in track and field and presented to society by the Blue Bishops her senior year and host of other activities.

In 1980 she met her spouse at Earl Navy Base. They united and relocated to Denver, CO where they raised their family. Born in the union was Keela and Michael Jr.

Jennifer was part of various organizations. She was a lifetime member of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority with an induction date of April 15, 1993. She was a member of Monmouth-Ocean County Pan Hellenic Council and Denver Pan Hellenic. She also helped organize the Jack and Jill, Rhore club, and debutante ball and she was a founding member in sisters in service.

She later relocated to New Jersey where she met her long-term spouse Joel Alston.

When Jennifer transitioned on September 20, 2016 she leaves behind, her Daughter Keela Parrish(Ruth) and her son Michael Rogers(Tolyia). Her sibling Jessie Carter(Ernest), Rose Carter(William), and Darryl Muhammad. Jennifer had five grandkids Cynyia, TyRhana, DhaeVontae, Jamar and ZyRhaea. And a host of nieces and nephews. Jennifer proceeds in death by Michael Rogers Sr. (husband), Regina Carter(Mom), Naomi Allen(grandmother) and Levi Carter(brother).

Family and friends are invited to a Viewing and to a Funeral Service at Ely Funeral Home in Neptune, NJ immediately following Graveside Service at White Ridge Cemetery in Eatontown, NJ.
