Timothy “Twinkie” Wilkins, 52, of 220 Andrews Street, peacefully passed away at his home Friday, September 23, 2016, surrounded by his loved ones.

Twinkie was born June 15, 1964 in Massena, son of William “Wally” Wilkins and the late Betty J. Yateman Wilkins. He was a graduate of Massena High School, and also earned an Associate’s Degree from Hudson Valley Community College. He married Darcy Rochfort at Alcoa Field in Massena on July 10, 1999, with Judge Leon Penell officiating.

Tim was a corrections officer at Riverview Correctional Facility retiring in the spring of 2016, and was a member of the Massena Volunteer Fire Department.

He enjoyed playing softball, football, hockey, lacrosse, golf and wrestling. He played football in college at Hudson Valley, and played and coached semiprofessional football for the Potsdam Trailblazers. He also coached Junior Varsity football and girls’ softball.

Twinkie is survived by his father, Wally Wilkins of Port Charlotte, FL; his sister Lori Salazar of Ogdensburg; his brothers Rickey Wilkins, and William “Billy” and Karen Wilkins, all of Massena.

Tim was predeceased by his mother, Betty J. Wilkins on November 10, 2014.

Friends may call at the Donaldson Funeral Home Sunday, 1-3 and 6-8 where a funeral service will be held Monday at 11:00 AM, with Pastor Rachael Jordan officiating.

Memorial contributions may be made in Tim’s memory to the American Diabetes Association.
