Elizabeth Jane Gadberry was the eighth child of Andrew Jackson Gadberry/Gadbury, Sr. and Nancy Anne Norsley Gadberry. Jane was born in Missouri, and is listed as about five years old in the 1860 census of Union, Van Buren County, Arkansas. Her mother died when she was about eleven, and Jane is listed in the 1870 census, keeping house in the Riley King household in Benton County, Arkansas, near where her family lived.

Jane married Frank Lawson on June 11, 1874, and was living in Holland, Bell County, Texas, when she visited her father in neighboring Lampasas County. She was mentioned in his will made in 1896. She gave a deposition regarding her father's Civil War pension for her step-mother, Hettie Keen Gadbury, in 1906.

Jane, aged about 83, died of burns after two days of pain. Joe died a year later at age 83 of cardiac failure. Both are buried at Science Hill Cemetery, Holland, Texas. [Information from Ruth Godwin Gadbury's book, GADBURY - GADBERRY JOURNEYS. 1996.]
