RJ was born the son of Rolley Beecher and Vallie Parks (McGinnis) Conner on September 20, 1925 in Richmond, MO. He served in the United States Navy as a SEABEE during WWII in the South Pacific Theater. RJ was a Union Carpenter for 71 years and a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church for 56 years.
Survivors include his two sons, David Conner and his wife Patti, Doug Conner; three daughters, Diane Kovich and her husband Pete, Debbie Hughes, Dana Conner; brother, Robert Conner; sister, Sally Allen; eight grandchildren, Casey Kovich, Kelly Thrasher, Kyle Kovich, Todd Conner, Allison Jaksa, Kelsey Hughes, Paige Conner, Camille Conner; four great-grandchildren, Olivia Conner, Joseph Jaksa, Jacob Jaksa, Julia Jaksa as well as a loving extended family.
RJ is preceded in death by his parents; beloved wife of 59 years, Alice M. (Forster) Conner; brothers, Donald, Tom; sisters, Val Marie, Frieda Ann; son-in-law, Mel Hughes.
A visitation will be held on Sunday, September 25, 2016 from 5-8:00 PM with a Recital of the Holy Rosary at 7:30 PM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. A Funeral Mass will be on Monday, September 26, 2016 at 11:00 AM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 2646 S. 34th Street, Kansas City, KS 66106. Burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery in Lenexa, KS.
Memorial contributions can be made to Pets for Vets, P.O. Box 762, Lees Summit, MO 64063 and/or Our Lady of Unity Food Kitchen; 2910 Strong Ave., Kansas City, KS 66106.
