Diane Rae Parkinson, 75, of Blackfoot, Idaho passed away Wednesday, September 21, 2016 at her home surrounded by her family.

Diane was born June 20, 1941 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Lester George Longmore and Estella May Anderson. She graduated from Blackfoot High School.

On August 10, 1962 Diane married Robert Hyrum Parkinson in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple.

She was a wonderful homemaker and loved spending time with her family. She enjoyed crocheting, sewing, collecting Barbie and porcelain dolls and working on her family genealogy and gathering pictures.

Diane was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served as Young Women President, was a referee for church volleyball, was a temple worker, visiting teacher, Primary teacher and Sunday School teacher.

She is survived by her husband, Robert Hyrum Parkinson of Blackfoot, Idaho; sons, Robert Ray (Marilee) Parkinson of Pocatello, Chris (Jodi) Parkinson of West Valley, Utah and Jeff Parkinson of Pocatello; daughters, Lori (Brett) Stocking of Blackfoot and Stephanie (Greg) Martin of Elko, Nevada; son-in-law, Albert Ray Fox of Rigby; brothers, Dean, Gary and Ron Longmore; sisters, Mardene Gough, Melba Nilsson and Carolyn (Donald) Scott; 19 grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Michelle Fox; sister, Vonda Fisher; and grandson, Jeremy Stocking.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 30, 2016 at the Rose LDS Chapel, 403 North 150 West, Blackfoot, Idaho. The family will meet with friends and relatives from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 29, 2016 at Hawker Funeral Home, 132 South Shilling Avenue in Blackfoot and for one hour prior to services at the church. Interment will follow at the Groveland Cemetery. Condolences may be sent to the family online at www.hawkerfuneralhome.com.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations be made to Hawker Funeral Home, 132 S. Shilling Ave Blackfoot, ID 83221, to aid in funeral expenses.
