Ryan Joseph Gilbert, 42, passed away Sept. 5, 2016, in Albuquerque, N.M. Ryan was born Aug. 8, 1974, in Flint, Mich., and raised in Las Vegas. He graduated from Western High School, attended UNLV, served a mission for the LDS Church in Pittsburgh, and subsequently earned a nursing degree from Carrington College in Albuquerque. Ryan was passionate about sports, movies and music. He was a lifelong fan of University of Michigan football and the Detroit Lions. Ryan was preceded in death by his mother, Freya Lee Hays. Ryan is survived by his son, Eli Joseph Gilbert; his siblings, Todd Gilbert, Gina Gilbert Winspear (Chris) and Bret Gilbert (Danielle); as well as his father, Gary Gilbert. Graveside service will be private at Palm Valley View Memorial Park, 7600 S. Eastern Ave.
