Larry Eugene Hardin, age 73, of Pinckneyville, IL, passed away on Wednesday, September 21, 2016 at 12:15 p.m. in Pinckneyville Community Hospital, Pinckneyville, IL.

Larry was born on March 26, 1943 in Pinckneyville, IL, a son to Robert Ogel and Margurite Louise (Dunihoo) Hardin. On August 22, 1964, he married Velda Clydine Birkner at St. Paul United Church of Christ, Pinckneyville, IL and she survives. He had worked as a draftsman at Spartan Printing for 29 years and later retired from Air Stamping. Larry served on the boards of education at Pinckneyville Grade School and Pinckneyville Community High School. He coached baseball at St. Bruno Catholic School, summer baseball league and Legion baseball and he also coached basketball at 204 Community Consolidated Grade School and was actively involved with the Pinckneyville Swim Team. Larry was a Panther fan of all sports and enjoyed baseball, fishing, golfing, bowling, playing volleyball on the weekends with his family and was an avid Cubs fan.

Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Clydine Hardin; four children and six grandchildren, daughter, Rhonda Kay and husband, Larry Shubert and their son, Blaine Allen, son, Douglas Hardin, son, Kevin and wife, Carrie Hardin and their three sons, Brandon, Dylan and Isaac, and daughter, Cynthia Renee and husband, Blaine Heisner and their two daughters, Carly and Eliza, all of Pinckneyville, IL; and three sisters, Judy Ruffino of Pinckneyville, IL, Betty Jo Tate of Dix, IL and Ginner (John) DeMarie of DuQuoin, IL, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Robert Paul Hardin.

Funeral services will be held at St. Paul United Church of Christ, Pinckneyville, IL on Monday, September 26, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. with Reverend Cindy Bean and Brother Rob Mathis officiating. Interment will be in Mueller Hill Cemetery, Pinckneyville, IL.

Friends may call at St. Paul United Church of Christ, Pinckneyville, IL on Sunday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Monday at the church from 8:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m.

Memorial donations may be made to St. Bruno School Baseball Program.
