Mr. Bernest "Bernie" L. Hipp, 72, of 810 James Doak Parkway, went home to be with the Lord, Tuesday, March 9, 2004.
The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Hanes-Lineberry Funeral Home North Elm Chapel. Burial will follow at Guilford Memorial Park.
Mr. Hipp was a member of First Baptist Church Summerfield. He was formerly a member of Immanuel Baptist Church and served as a deacon. He was the owner and operator of Hipp's Maintenance. He was preceded in death by a brother, Eugene Hipp; and sisters, Edna Holshouser and Beatrice "Bea" Hovis.
Mr. Hipp is survived by his wife of 53 years, Ivy W. Hipp; son Dr. Guy Hipp (Jan) of Winston-Salem; son Larry Hipp (Janice Fleury) of Chicago, Ill.; daughter Donna Watts (Keith); son Mike Hipp (Beth); brothers, Ralph Hipp and Lloyd Hipp Jr., all of Greensboro; grandchildren, Joy Sauls (grandson-in-law Ashton), Jon Hipp, Amanda Watts, Emily Hipp, Mary Hipp; great-grandson Conner Sauls; and his loyal canine companion, Daisy.
