A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, November 17, at Forbis & Dick North Elm Chapel. The Rev. Dr. David Melton will officiate. A private family burial will follow.
Mrs. Roland was born October 4, 1924, in Jasper County, Georgia, to the late Aubie N. and Nellie Mae Hickman Cook. She was retired from Greensboro Manufacturing Company.
Mrs. Roland was preceded in death by her husband, James Blake Roland in 2003 and a son, Ken Roland in 2006.
Survivors include two children, Larry Roland and Judy R. Venable, both of Greensboro; two sisters, Emily Kelly and Faye Jordan both of Georgia; brother, Marcus Cook of Georgia; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
