Julius was a WWI US Army veteran. He served as a Chauffeur, First Class in the 33rd Balloon Company, Air Corp Service from 6/5/1917 through 6/17/1919.

Throughout most of his post-war life, Julius was a meat cutter in various stores in the Portland area.
