Herbert (Herb) Edward Day, 69, of Friendswood, TX passed away on Tuesday, September 20, 2016 in Galveston, TX.
He was born December 14, 1946 to Clyde Day and Thelma Seely Day in Stamford, TX. He graduated from Bellaire High School in El Paso, TX and then graduated from the University of Texas at El Paso in 1968. He achieved CPA designation; worked several years in public accounting in Dallas and Houston before assuming the position of Office Manager/Accountant at Burwell Nebout Trial Lawyers in Texas City. Herb retired in November, 2014.
Herb married Nancy Madera on July 27, 1991, together they enjoyed traveling and cruising to many ports throughout the US, Canada, Caribbean, Mexico and Europe. He enjoyed solving crossword puzzles and his Saturday night martini.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his beloved Scottie, Bonnie.
Herb is survived by his wife Nancy and his Scottie, Katie; sister in law Fay Duke (Lonnie) and brother in law Bill Jones; nephews, Walker Duke (Melissa), Will Jones, Joey Jones and Michael Jones; numerous cousins; and many other relatives and cherished friends.
Friends are cordially invited to the visitation with the family on Saturday, September 24, 2016 at 1:30 P.M. with the funeral service to follow at 2:00 P.M. at the Jeter Memorial Funeral Home Chapel, 311 N. Friendswood Dr., Friendswood, TX 77546 (281) 992-7200. Interment will be held at 5:00 P.M. at the Wheat Cemetery in Millican, TX.
Honorary Pallbearers will include Walker Duke, Will James, Joey Jones, and Michael Jones.
