Mildred Duncan, 76, passed away on Monday, May 30, 2016 at her residence in Altoona, IA where she had been living in recent years.

She loved to sew and be a devoted housewife. When she was living in the Westlake area, she was a member of the Church of the Nazarene along with attending Westlake United Methodist Church. She had helped with the church bulletin board and Sunday school attendance and she would help wherever she was needed.

She is survived by two sons, David Duncan and wife Jennifer of Altoona, IA., Douglas Duncan and wife Robin of Stonewall, LA, one daughter, Sharmarie Lynn Hoggatt and husband Scottie of Metairie, LA., a brother Jerry Dixon and wife Audrey, three sisters, Betty Litteral, April Miller and husband Frank, and Janet Hutchison, all three of Oklahoma. Mildred also leaves behind four grandchildren, Danielle, Jennifer, Mariah, Shai, along with six great grandchildren.

Mildred is preceded in death by her loving husband of nearly 50 years Ronald Duncan, and her parents, Louis and Mildred Dixon.

Services will be held at Hixson Funeral Home of Westlake on Sunday, June 12, 2016 at 2:00pm with Pastor Betty Northen officiating. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
A later private burial will follow at Highland Memory Gardens. Words of comfort may be shared with the family at www.hixsonfuneralhomes.com.
