Janet Gibson Danzer passed away on Monday, Dec. 4, 2006, in Portland, Ore.

She was born in Chester, on Aug. 22, 1917, to Roy E. Gibson and Martha Jane (Taylor) Gibson. She met her husband, Byron Fred 'Barney' Danzer, in White Sulphur Springs and they married in 1940. They moved to Helena with their four children in 1954.

Janet and Barney were active in square dancing and taught round dancing for many years in Helena. They opened Danzer's Paint and Wallpaper in 1974.

Janet was preceded in death by her husband, Barney; her sons, Byron E. and Terry Danzer, Sr.

She is survived by her son, Richard G. Danzer and Kathleen (Swett) Danzer in Portland; daughter, Kathy Danzer in New York; daughter-in-law, Ann Danzer in Helena; grandchildren, Terry and Teresa (Watne) Danzer; their daughters, Nicole and Heather, in Pocatello, Idaho; Eric and Tracey Danzer in Oakland, Calif. and Michelle Danzer in Santa Cruz, Calif. Also surviving, is Janet's beloved sister, Joyce Johnston, formerly of Laurel, and Joyce's children, Davey Johnston in Bozeman; Judy and Gene Olsen in Arizona and Kristy Johnston in Missoula.

Janet will be laid to rest in White Sulphur Springs.
