Edgar Robinson, age 74, of the Possum Trot Community, passed away on Wednesday, September 21st, 2016 at his home. A native of Yancey County, he was a son of late JB and Sadie Penland Robinson. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Billie Marie Pauley and a brother, Charles Denver Robinson. Edgar enjoyed fishing, gardening, coon hunting and spending time with his family.
Surviving is his loving wife, Phoebe Yelton Robinson; daughters: Becky Buchanan and husband, Dwight and Christina Robinson and fiancé, Adam Woody, all of Burnsville; a son, Randall Robinson and wife, Marsha, of Burnsville; granddaughter, Tiffany Carroll and husband, Bradley, of Burnsville; grandsons: Jamie Buchanan and wife, Emily, of Burlington, Sgt. Joshua Buchanan stationed in Nevada and Christopher Robinson and wife, Alana, of South Carolina; great-grandchildren: Elaina Buchanan, Avery Carroll, Skyler Robinson, Jacey Robinson and Chloe Robinson; sisters: Patty Freeman of Burnsville and Brenda Deyton of Hickory; brothers: Stanley Robinson of South Carolina and Larry Robinson of Asheville. Several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, September 24th in the Chapel of Yancey Funeral Service. Rev. Jim Bo Seaton and Rev. Bobby Ray will officiate. The family will receive friends from 1 until 3 p.m. prior to the funeral service at the funeral home. Burial will follow in the Ray Cemetery.
