Vernon Jaten Young Bear Jr. age 38 took the journey to the heavenly realm. He was a big hearted gentle soul, who loved to joke and laugh with family and friends.

Vernon was born on a cold wintery morning of January 19, 1978 to Faith Jorgenson and Vernon Young Bear Sr. Vernon was also affectionately known as “Mouse” a family nickname given to him by his uncle Ambrose when his uncle saw the sizes of the baby clothes.

During his life time he attended Mandaree School and New Town High School: graduating from Quentin Burdick Job Corp. He worked at the 4 Bears Casino and then at the Three Affiliated Tribes KMHA Radio Station as the night shift Dee Jay.

He was a member of the Eagle Sun Dance Society, he enjoyed spending time visiting with his Uncle Ambrose & Aunt Shannon Phelan, and his Grandmother Louella Benson Young Bear, and Grandpa Ivan Young Bear Sr., and all his relatives and family.

Vernon loved to hang out at Mckenzie Bay with his friends and family; where they camped, swam, and fished. Vernon preferred to be called Jaten. Some new him as Jaten. He is survived by his mother Faith Jorgenson and his sister Jezarae Young Bear.

He is preceded in death by his Paternal Grandparents Louella Benson Young Bear, Ivan Young Bear, Aunt Berniece Young Bear, Cousin Toby Young Bear, Uncle Ambrose Phelan, Maternal Grand Mother Mary Fern Goodall. All family and friends are Honorary Pall Bearers.
