"Willard C. Lowry, 74, died in a local hospital Tuesday evening after a brief illness.
Born in Alabama, Mr. Lowry had lived in Madera for the past 30 years. He was a member and deacon of the First Southern Baptist Church of Madera.
He is survived by his wife, Ethel, of Madera; five sons, Horace and Huette of Madera, Howard of Oroville, Henry of Firebaugh and Harry of Ventura 12 grandchildren and one great-grandchild; four brothers, Parks, Leonard, Raymond and Reno, all of Alabama; and six sisters, Mrs. Bertha Huskey, Mrs. Ora Tillman, Mrs. Mary Parker and Mrs. Bessie Taylor, all of Alabama, Mrs. Jewel Mobley of Atlanta, and Mrs. Lorene Rhodes of Fresno.
Funeral services will be Thursday at 11 am in the Jay Chapel with burial to follow in Arbor Vitae Cemetery."
