He was born at Eglin AFB, Florida to Robert and Carrie Ward. He grew up in Choctaw Beach, FL and graduated from Freeport High School where he played basketball, ran track, and made many lifelong friends. He was employed at Ruckel Middle School for more than 17 years and was proud to be part of the Ruckel Ram Family. He was also a member of the Playground Corvette Club where he participated in many fundraising events.
Dale was preceded in death by his mother, Carrie "Belle" Ward. Survivors include his loving wife, Catherine Ramsey Ward; daughter, Robyn Ward (Jamie) Smith, Heather Ward (Adam), Tracy (Chris) Rowland; father, Robert Lee Ward; siblings, Cindy (Eddie) Hopper, Barbara Ward, Debra (Randy) Stumpf, Glenn (Sylvia) Ward; beloved grandchildren, Ashley, Amanda, Aurora, Braden, Jameson; great-grandson, Zayden; and a dear brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Ed and Evelyn Opitz. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Above all Dale Ward was the best husband, father, pawpaw, son, brother, and friend. His love and devotion to his family will live on forever.
There will be a visitation from 2-3:00 pm on Thursday, September 22, 2016 at Heritage Gardens Funeral Home. A funeral service will begin at 3:00 pm on Thursday at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Heritage Gardens Cemetery.
