Thena Pauline Teed Dixson died early Saturday morning, Sept. 28, 2013 at the Norwich Rehabilitation and Nursing Center.
Thena was born Aug. 18, 1917, daughter of Josiah and Mary Elizabeth “Matie” Teed in Northfield. The family later moved to Bainbridge where Thena attended Bainbridge Central School and spent the rest of her life.
She married Charles Dixson, who predeceased her; as did her sister, Thelma Marleah Teed Miller.
Thena owned and operated a beauty salon in Bainbridge for more than 50 years; she retired in 2003 at the age of 86. She is survived by her two sons, Robert Bugbee, Afton and Clarke Bugbee, Rohnert Park, Calif.; grandchildren, Tanya Lavoie and Yelena Westberg, Texas and Clarke Bugbee, Calif.; five great-grandchildren; nieces, Pauline Ellen Lee, Sidney and Marleah Miller Hoffmann, Raleigh, N.C.; and by nephew, Raymond Miller, Ocala, Fla. She is also survived by her dear friend, Ethel Armstrong Curley, Bainbridge, whom she loved as an honorary daughter as well as a faithful friend.
