Mr. Fred William Ward, Jr., age 78 of the Paint Rock Community in Oneida, TN, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, September 21, 2016 at his home.

Born February 21, 1938 in Blue Ridge, GA, he was the son of the late Fred W. Ward, Sr. and Dorothy Mantooth Turvey of Cisco, GA.

Mr. Ward served in the United States Air Force; and was a member of the New River Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife Belva Ann Phillips Ward of the Paint Rock Community; son Johnny Ward and wife Jeanine of Chatsworth, GA; daughters Nora Hawkins of Chatsworth, GA, and Rose Rowe and husband Jerry of Valdosta, GA; 7 step-children Bobbie DeBord and husband Dick, Donnie Griffith and wife Lisa, Cheryl Humphreys and husband Rick, Jeff Griffith and wife Crystalle, Sandy Newport and husband Bob, Decie Buttram and husband Mike, and Nikkole Sexton and husband Mike; sister Gale Daugherty of Chatsworth, GA; brother Phillip Ward of Cisco, GA; grandchildren Niki McKee, Shanna Thomas, Coy Ward, Kimberly Estep and Allie Hawkins; 2 great grandchildren: Rheanna and Kinsley McKee; 22 step grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, other family members, and friends.

Friends may visit with the Ward family on Friday, September 23, 2016 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the New River Baptist Church.

Funeral service will be held Saturday, September 24, 2016 at 2 p.m. at the New River Baptist Church with Bro. Kermit Phillips and Bro. Ernest Phillips officiating.

Burial will follow in the Sexton Memorial Cemetery with full Military Honors provided by American Legion Post #136 of Oneida.

Pallbearers will be River Sexton, Zachary Phillips, Lonnie Lowe, Tommy Williams, Terry Lawson and Jesse Lawson. Honorary Pallbearer will be: Coy William Ward.
