Third daughter of Luke Edward and Bridget Agnes Murtaugh. Agnes was part of the first generation of Murtaughs born in America. Never married. As an adult she ran her own "tea room" (restaurant) and looked after her widowed father and disabled brother, Luke E. Murtaugh, Jr. She developed rheumatoid arthritis and spent many years in a wheel chair.
