John H. Story, 78, died at 1:10 a. m. today at his home here. He had suffered a heart attack Wednesday. Story was born March 18, 1873, at Fairgrange, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Story. He had been a farmer until 1930 when he moved to Charleston. Surviving are his widow, a daughter, Mrs. Frank Lane of Ashmore, three sisters and a brother.

John was one of my great grandfather's (at least) 14 siblings and half-siblings. John attended my great grandparents golden wedding anniversary party in Fairgrange on Sunday, 23 August 1948. The three sisters still living at the time of John's death were Lucy May (Story) Popham of Livingston County, Missouri; Emma F (Story) Popham of Coles County, Illinois; and Minnie Bell (Story) Brockham of Kanawha County, West Virginia. The one living brother was Charles Ervin Story of Coles County, Illinois.
