NEWS REPORT Iron River Reporter March 1 1940 "Sanity Hearing Due For Marsch, Authorities Say"
A sanity hearing is in prospect for Marion Marsch, 45, resident of the Morrison Creek district who killed two men, wounded a third, and endangered deputies and a crew of WPA road workmen in a frenzy of gunfire near his shack home eight miles northwest of here Tuesday afternoon, authorities indicated today. Slain by bullets from Marsch's gun were two neighbors, Peter Baker, 69, and Hans Mattson, 63, who lived alone in small houses on adjacent lands. Wounded by a bullet as he stood in a WPA shanty a short distance down the road was Albin Kunchynski, 33, foreman of the project. Clarence Gustafson of Iron River, 27, sustained cuts about the face from flying glass as three shots crashed through the windshield of the gravel truck he was driving. He was not wounded.
BOUND OVER Officers recalled that Marsch aimed his 6-inch revolver at Leo "Porky" Sandri and Jack Linden who were in the cab of another truck carrying gravel to the project. The two attempted to seize him but he eluded them. After shooting Kunchynski he fired at George Dobson who was crouched nearby but missed.

OBITUARY of Ronald Dobson 2007 says George H. Dobson was his father.
