Curtis Eugene Howard, age 81, of Nixa passed away Sunday, September 18, 2016. He was born October 1, 1934 in Nixa, to Lorn and Clorus (Johnson) Howard. Curtis was born and raised in Nixa and spent his life farming. Curtis married Shirley Mae Johnson at the court house in Ozark on January 16, 1956. He was 19, and Shirley was 15. Their marriage lasted 60 years until Shirley’s passing in January of 2016. He was a dairy farmer and had 10,000 laying chickens. He also farmed hay. Curtis enjoyed collecting antique tractors. He had many tractors. Curtis would rebuild them and show them. Curtis is described as a quiet man and a giving man. He loved his family, his church family, and friends.
Curtis is survived by his son Randall Howard; and his grandchildren Ken and Michaela Howard.
Curtis is preceded in death by his parents; and his beloved wife Shirley.
A graveside service will be held at 10:30 AM, Saturday, September 24, 2016 at Delaware Cemetery, Nixa, with Brother Arnold Fletcher officiating.
Arrangements are under the direction of Adams Funeral Home, Nixa.
Curtis is survived by his son Randall Howard; and his grandchildren Ken and Michaela Howard.
